Terms & cONDITIONS

1. Opening Hours
  • The school operates from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays).
  • Main activities occur between 8:30 AM and 1:00 PM.
  • Parents must notify us in advance for early pickups.
  • No refunds for early departures or late arrivals.
2. Attendance
  • Attendance is recorded daily.
  • Extra days cost €28 per day, subject to availability.
  • Sick/ missed days are non-refundable and non-replaceable.
  • Booking additional or swapped days must be done in advance via our website.
  • Booked days cannot be transferred to extra hours, and extra hours cannot be transferred to daysaccording to regular pickups if timings or designated individuals differ from what has been
3. Payments
  • No refunds will be given, and partial payments are not accepted.
  • Schemes are non-transferable and cannot be shared, including between siblings, relatives, or any other individuals.
  • Prepaid extra hours must be settled before July 1st, 2026, or will be charged at €4.5 per hour.
  • Payment Methods:
    • Payments can be made securely through the online booking system on our website.
    • Alternatively, payments can be made in person at our office by cash or card.
    • Cheques are not accepted.
4. Outings
  • Outings are included when purchasing a package.
  • A signed consent form is required for participation.
  • No swimming sessions will take place on outing days.
  • Extra days for outings are charged €15 per day.
5. Mandatory HiKids T-Shirt
  • All children must wear the HiKids T-shirt during all activities.
  • HiKids T-Shirts can be purchased directly from Bortex either online or from the Bortex Mrieħel Store.
  • Parents are encouraged to purchase their T-Shirts before the start of the Summer Club to ensure availability.
6. Lunches and Drinks
  • Allergies must be clearly communicated in writing before the start of summer.
  • While we take reasonable precautions, HiKids cannot guarantee a completely allergen-free environment.
  • Parents must ensure that children with severe allergies carry their necessary medication (e.g., EpiPen)
  • Lunches should be simple.
  • Children staying past 2:00 PM can bring an extra meal, which must be labelled and handed to staff.
  • Plain birthday cakes are allowed; no creamy or messy cakes.
  • Children can purchase cooled drinks (water & ice tea) onsite but should bring small, labelled purses.
7. Safety
  • Socks and runners must be worn for specific activities.
  • Flip-flops are only allowed for swimming sessions.
8. Emergencies
  • Accidents are reported to parents/guardians.
  • For serious incidents, emergency services will be contacted first, followed by parents.
9. Sick Children
  • Sick children cannot attend.
  • A medical certificate may be required in certain cases.
10. Child’s Belongings
  • All items must be labelled.
  • Electronic devices are not allowed.
  • The centre is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items.
11. Swimming Sessions
  • Children must wear a two-piece swimsuit (except for girls 81+ years).
  • Sunblock must be applied before arrival.
  • Bathing caps and inflated armbands should be labelled.
12. Behaviour
  • Disruptive behaviour, bullying, or physical aggression will not be tolerated.
  • If issues persist after a meeting with parents, the child’s placement may be terminated without a refund.
13. Picking Up Children
  • Children will be dismissed according to the pickup arrangements provided on the application form. Parents/guardians are responsible for informing management in advance of any changes to authorised individuals or collection times.
  • Authorised Pick-Up: Only individuals authorised by the parent/guardian may collect a child.
  • Each child will be assigned a personalised QR code for collection. The QR code can be accessed at any time through the Parent Portal at book.hikidsmalta.com and must be presented at every collection.
  • Parents/guardians are responsible for keeping their child's QR code secure. They may share the QR code only with trusted and authorised individuals who have permission to collect the child on their behalf.
  • The QR code is issued solely for the collection of the named child and must not be shared with unauthorised persons.
  • No QR Code, No Collection: For the safety and security of all children, HiKids will not release a child unless the correct QR code is presented, except where alternative arrangements have been approved in advance by management.
  • HiKids will not be held responsible for any unauthorised collection resulting from the parent/guardian sharing their child's QR code with another person.
  • For last-minute changes to pickup arrangements, parents/guardians must notify us in advance via the school's phone.
14. Transport
  • Transport will operate within school premises for safety.
  • Complaints should be reported to management.
15. Data Protection
  • HiKids follows the Data Protection Act and keeps all records confidential.
16. Staff Recruitment Policy
  • Staff must provide character references, police conduct certificates, teaching qualifications, and First Aid certification.
17. Amendments to Terms and Conditions
  • HiKids reserves the right to amend, update, or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time to reflect operational changes, legal requirements, or improvements to our services. Any such amendments will be posted on our official website hikids.mt and will take effect immediately unless otherwise stated.
  • Parents and guardians are responsible for reviewing these Terms periodically to stay informed about any updates. Continued use of our services after changes have been made constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
  • If any modifications significantly impact fees, policies, or rights, HiKids will make reasonable efforts to notify parents via email or official communication channels in advance.
